Job Advert Summary

Eduvos is looking to employ the services of a Learning Resources and Centres Lead at our Mowbray (Cape Town) campus.

The Position:

  • To manage the campus resource centre.

Position Type:

  • Permanent (Full-time)


Minimum Requirements

Minimum qualification:

  • BA Library/ B.BiBL Information Science degree or Advanced Diploma in relevant field
  • Relevant Postgraduate qualification will be an advantage
  • Registration with LIASA will be an advantage

Experience:

  • At least two to five years' relevant experience in the higher education sector


Functional And Behavioural Competencies

Functional competencies:

  • Understanding of library related technology (e.g., ProQuest, Integrated Library systems)
  • Knowledge of library policies, procedures and practices
  • Knowledge of research methodology
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of library materials acquisition
  • Expertise in using online database services and virtual reference services
  • Knowledge of conservation and preservation techniques for library materials
  • Data collection skills
  • Fully computer literate with a working knowledge and skills in Microsoft Office
