The Role

Working Hours: Mondays - Fridays,

9AM-5PM Central European Time

Salary Range: USD (subject to evaluation of experience and skill level)

The Design QA Specialist ensures the delivery of high-quality creative outputs across all design projects. This role focuses on reviewing deliverables, maintaining consistency with brand guidelines, and supporting process efficiency. The QA Specialist plays a key role in conducting daily quality checks, identifying issues, and collaborating with designers and project managers to uphold Growmodo's creative standards.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance

  • Conduct QA cycles daily, reviewing design deliverables for accuracy, consistency, and adherence to brand and client requirements.
  • Evaluate visual quality, layout alignment, typography, color usage, and technical specifications across all design outputs.
  • Provide detailed, actionable feedback to designers using established QA documentation and tools.
  • Ensure all designs meet aesthetic, functional, and technical standards while aligning with project timelines.
  • Maintain and update QA checklists and quality standards for various design types (UI/UX, branding, motion graphics, and video).

Process & Workflow Support

  • Identify recurring quality issues or process gaps and propose improvements to enhance efficiency and output consistency.
  • Support the documentation of best practices, QA standards, and process updates to ensure alignment across the team.
  • Ensure all feedback loops are completed, and design revisions meet the required quality before final delivery.

Reporting & Communication

  • Track QA results, revision rates, and recurring issues to support data-driven quality improvements.
  • Communicate clearly with designers and Team Leads about QA findings, expectations, and corrective actions.
  • Maintain transparent documentation of QA outcomes and updates in internal systems for easy reference.

Quality Advocacy

  • Uphold Growmodo's creative and brand standards by ensuring all design work reflects professionalism, precision, and innovation.
  • Stay informed about current design trends, best practices, and platform-specific updates to enhance QA relevance and accuracy.

Key Metrics for Success

  • Quality Metrics: Reduction in client revisions and post-delivery errors.
  • Consistency: Adherence to brand and platform guidelines across all deliverables.
  • Efficiency: Improved turnaround times without compromising quality.
  • Process Adherence: Consistent use of QA checklists and review workflows.

Must-Haves

  • Proficiency in a specialized design discipline (UI/UX, graphic design, motion graphics, branding, etc.).
  • Experience using design collaboration tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe CC, Slack, ClickUp, or similar).
  • Strong grasp of design principles, color theory, composition, and typography.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to identify subtle visual or structural issues.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a process-oriented mindset.
  • Strong communication skills for delivering clear, constructive feedback.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Previous experience in a design QA Specialist, design checker, or quality-focused design role.
  • Familiarity with QA documentation systems and revision tracking tools.
  • Experience working in a remote or asynchronous environment.
