Execute research in laboratory, field and greenhouses.
- Collect, process and capture data.
- Pro-actively provide technical input within the context of the research projects.
- Provides timeous and reliable data which supports the objectives of the research project.
- Ensures cost-effective utilization of research resources.
- Contribute towards quarterly progress reports.
- Contribute towards a reliable final report on technical data according to research objectives.
- Assists in hosting field days.
- Assists in communication with farmers and extension officers.
- Assists with technical services.
- Regulatory Compliance with the Health and Safety procedures.
- Compliance with Lab safety.
- BSc or BTech in Plant Breeding/Plant Production.
- BSc Honors in Plant Breeding/Plant Production will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge and experience working with tropical and subtropical crops will be an added advantage
- Knowledge in Horticultural practices will be an added advantage.
- Experience in data collection and trial management will be an added advantage.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to work independently and in a team.
- Registration with a scientific and professional body will be an added advantage.
- Proficiency in in the MS Office suite.
- A valid drivers’ license with driving experience.
