This international mining manufacturing client is seeking to employ a seasoned Production Manager. The company is based in Germiston.

**Qualifications, experience & skills required for this position**:

- Grade 12 and a post Matric qualification in Production Management
- Excellent computer literacy on MS Office and other operating systems in the production environment
- Between 5-10 years experience in a **steel **production environment
- Excellent people and people management skills

**Duties will include (but are not limited to)**:

- Responsible for production output, product quality, and on-time shipping.
- Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed our customers’ expectations.
- Increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards.
- Oversees the manufacture of products, including materials procurement and vendor management, ensuring production, performance, and quality standards are consistently met.
- Prepare the shop production plan.
- Ensuring all workers maintain productivity and stay on delegated tasks.
- Quality checks include pre-weld, pre-surface treatment, post surface treatment.
- Coordinating incoming and outgoing deliveries, ensuring load lists, Confers with Project Manager to coordinate activities with other organizational units and prioritizing work product
- Take steps to solve production problems and improve performance.
- Scheduling all jobs loaded to the factory
- Follow up on all jobs during the fabrication processes to avoid any problems during shipping.
- Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions.
- Share a trusting relationship with the workgroup and recruit, manage and develop plant staff.
- Collect and analyze data to manage overtime.
- Address employees’ issues or grievances and administer collective bargaining agreements.
- Maintenance of machines
- All OHS related matters
