**CATEGORY MANAGER : INGREDIENTS - JOHANNESBURG - R32500 to R50000, FMCG INDUSTRY**

The Right Company are currently recruiting for a Category Manager : Ingredients for a large FMCG Company based in Johannesburg. You will be responsible for developing and executing a Group Category sourcing strategy for your respective category that will deliver best procurement value and mitigate supply risks. You will establish a distinctive competency and understanding of the category characteristics, the Company’s business needs and the prevailing market dynamics. You manage a team of commodity managers and sourcing specialists to ensure your category team delivers the strategy whilst ensuring a healthy relationship with the business and suppliers. As Category Manager you will manage a category spend of R 5bn+
- Responsible for the formulation of the long-term Ingredients Category strategy and planning that provides an operating framework for the category team. Provide guidance and support to the category team to deliver on the strategy.
- Oversee and evolve the category team’s sourcing strategies by factoring fundamentals, macro-economic, supply market developments and changes in business priorities.
- Lead the development and update of category strategies to ensure relevance to prevailing market conditions.
- Ensure that sourcing strategies safeguard supply through contingencies and supply alternatives.
- Lead significant spend projects within the category to deliver value to the Company’s bottom line ensuring, highest quality and on time delivery.
- Provide guidance and support to commodity and sourcing specialists to deliver total cost of ownership savings.
- Ensure that the category’s supply market intelligence, value chain and cost models are accurate and oversee the provision of budgetary input and quarterly cost forecasts to business.

Experience
- Function-8 to 10 years experience procurement
- Industry-Extensive Experience in FMCG industry and Ingredient’s

WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders, including EXCO, Business MD & FD’s and Suppliers.
- Participate in engagements with relevant category industry bodies and regulatory bodies to optimize the Company’s position.
- Lead supply management with the selected Strategic and Critical suppliers (negotiations, reviews, contracting).
- Keep abreast with the latest category information, market development and mitigate these potential impacts.
- Compile procurement mandates and motivations for approval of contract awards to CFO and EXCO level
- Collaborate with the Centre of Excellence Sourcing Analytics team
- Review and report on category performance (Cost Forecasts, Savings, BBBEE, Risk Mitigation) and ensure compliance with Procurement’s policies and procedures

**Qualifications**:

- BCom (Supply Chain Management and/ Logistics)
- Engineering Qualification
- Equivalent Tertiary Qualification
- CIPS

**Salary**: R32,500.00 - R50,000.00 per month
