**Key role**:
Ensure that the complete functionality of the plant is carried out according to the best operating procedures.

**Requirements**:

- Management related Degree or Diploma
- Code 8 Drivers’ License
- Minimum 3 years’ working experience in a Management position, ideally in a unionized environment
- Working knowledge of EE, OSH, SHE and BCE Legislation
- Financial, Logistics and Production understanding and knowledge non-negotiable
- Experience in recruitment and IR matters
- Must be able to work with large groups of people

**Primary duties**:

- Determine daily staff requirements and collection schedule
- Plan vehicle maintenance
- Plan plant maintenance daily
- Plan production for day and night shift
- Plan loading and vehicle orders daily
- Plan scheduled meetings and training when necessary (health and safety etc.)
- Ensure production and sales sheets are correctly used
- Ensure logistics functions are correctly performed (tracking, routing, scheduling, vehicle checklists etc.)
- Monitor general maintenance and repairs to the plant and equipment
- Oversee quality control, production and logistics of the plant
- Ensure you are licensed and able to operate a forklift machine to be able to identify abuse and fill in when necessary
- Conduct environmental audits and submit volumes to Department of Environmental affairs as required by municipal bylaws and waste license
- Facilitate staff matters within level of authority (leave, time keeping, disciplinary and grievance procedures etc.)
- Attend meetings when required
- Ensure the buyback centres and dumps stock balances daily
- Identify training needs for staff and self and communicate to the Regional Manager
- Prevent incidents and accidents by operating any equipment and machinery according to the safety procedures
- Ensure that the safety committee and representative regularly carry out safety meetings, drills and training and all registers are kept up to date
- Assist workshop and boiler shop with daily operations and costing and consumables
