**Minimum Requirements**:

- Have relevant qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Library Science, Education and or a related field (a teaching qualification is recommended but not essential) P
- Proven experience in a school or educational library setting.
- Must be academic and knowledgeable on current affairs and have a broad range of interests
- Experience of developing and promoting reading materials in the digital space.
- Information literacy skills, including research techniques, critical thinking and digital literacy
- Demonstrate excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Be passionate about education, student development, and digital literacy.
- Be a proactive team player who thrives in a vibrant school community
- At least 3 years prior teaching experience and SACE registration would be recommended.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Curate and manage a dynamic, modern library collection
- Create an inviting and stimulating library environment that encourages exploration, curiosity, research and independent learning, where learners feel comfortable in seeking assistance, recommendations and guidance for their reading choices and needs.
- Stay current with emerging educational technologies and trends in library science to enhance the library’s offerings and resources.
- Be responsible for and further sourcing of a collection of books (digital and print), periodicals and digital resources that cater to the varied interests and academic needs of Rondebosch boys and staff.
- Collaborate with staff to support curriculum and learning goals.
- Experience in building, adding to, and maintaining digital catalogues.
- Familiarity with a library management software. We are currently using Edadmin.
- Track and keep up to date with current reading trends for a young audience.
- Collaborate with teachers to support classroom curriculum and provide guidance on integrating literature and research materials into lessons
- Enjoy working with young men and understand their needs and interests
