We are seeking a detail-oriented and innovative Data Specialist for a 1-year Contract in Durbanville. This role is crucial for transforming raw data into actionable reports and designing robust database structures that facilitate efficient data management and reporting. You’ll need 4+ Years’ experience in data transformation, reporting, and database design; Proficiency in SQL and experience with database management systems (e.g., MSSQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server); Familiarity with reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and data visualization best practices; Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and present findings clearly; Experience with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and tools; Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, R) for data manipulation and analysis; and, Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).

Type: 1-Year Contract

Rate: R350 - R500 ph

Area: Hybrid in Durbanville

Key Responsibilities:

- Data Transformation: Convert raw data collected from various sources into user-friendly reporting formats, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
- Database Design: Design and create database structures that support reporting needs, optimizing for performance and scalability.
- Data Quality Assurance: Implement processes to validate and ensure the integrity of data, identifying discrepancies and resolving issues promptly.
- Reporting Development: Develop and automate reports, dashboards, and visualizations that communicate insights effectively to stakeholders.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data analysts, business intelligence teams, and management, to understand reporting requirements and deliver solutions that meet their needs.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of data processes, database structures, and reporting methodologies for reference and compliance.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on the latest data management and reporting tools and techniques, proposing enhancements to existing processes.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field would be advantageous.
- 4+ Years’ experience in data transformation, reporting, and database design.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with database management systems (e.g., MSSQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server).
- Familiarity with reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker) and data visualization best practices.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and present findings clearly.
- Experience with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and tools.
- Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, R) for data manipulation and analysis.
