Junior Legal Counsel

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Advise KCS Group stakeholders on a wide range of Legal issues and negotiate a broad range of Commercial and Service-related Agreements across the KCS Group business areas.
- Give accurate and timely counsel in a variety of Legal topics (Contract Law, Software, SaaS, Licensing, Employment, Corporate, Data Protection, etc.), carrying out research and reviews where necessary
- ensure best practice is applied in the adoption of KCS Group Standard Terms within the KCS Group.
- Collaborate with all levels of KCS Group employees to solve problems, provide straightforward actionable and implementable advice.
- Assist in the management of Supplier and Customer relationships, including advising on and negotiating terms where necessary.
- Evaluate, advise risk factors regarding KCS Group critical activities, make decisions based on accurate, factual legal evaluation taking in account KCS Group Commercial and Operational requirements.
- Prepare, review a wide variety of Agreements in a user-friendly way whilst affording all the required protections to KCS Group.
- Communicate and negotiate with external parties incl. external Counsel of Customers, Suppliers creating relations of trust to enhance KCS reputation.
- Provide clear clarification on any Legal language and any matters in dispute to ensure transparency and visibility of issues.
- Work with integrity, responsibly maintaining current knowledge and follow industry-related Legislative and Regulatory changes as they impact KCS Group operations.

**Key Requirements**:

- Must be commercially and business focussed and comfortable with a high level of responsibility in working with KCS Group internal stakeholders and external Customers, Suppliers.
- High degree of professional ethics and integrity.
- Be able to analyse information quickly and present advice in a clear and accessible format.
- Preferably have direct experience in a Software, IT Services Sector based business.
- Comprehension of the influences of the environment of a global corporation and working in a multicultural environment.
- Ability to follow instructions to achieve desired outcomes.
- Working experience in Commercial Law, Contracts.
- Attorney admitted to the High Court of South Africa with 0-2 years post admission experience
- LL.B. Degree.
- Ability to challenge business stakeholders objectively whilst ensuring a collaborative and non-confrontational approach is taken.
- Attention to detail, thorough.
- Produce and present high quality material for use throughout the KCS Group.
- Ability to work collaboratively and support other members of the legal team.
