**Job Purpose**:
To co-ordinate and control specialized/technical plumbing tasks/activities associated with Control
Valves in accordance with specifications to ensure that disruptions to services are minimised.

**Key Responsibility Areas**:
Interprets and co-ordinates specific pre-work/ site requirements with regards to installation,
planned and predictive maintenance sequences and guides the activities of personnel.
Completes internal transactional documentation (e.g. time sheets, log sheet, progress and
productivity field report, etc.) and related forms (Vehicle checklist).
Co-ordinates activities/ sequences associated with trouble shooting/ fault finding process to
identify reasons for control valve failure in the supply of water.
Observes conformance with safety rules and procedures, corrects deviations and reports
serious breaches in standards to the immediate superior
Manages, develops and monitors the performance and conduct of staff.
Establishes and provides information on options/alternative methods to address problems,
prevent reoccurences and assesses the extent of the repair/maintenance processes to
determine resource requirements.
Co-ordinates activities and sequences associated with maintaining the functionality of water
systems and components.

**Essential Requirements**:
Qualified Artisan Plumber or Water Service hand in terms of the relevant legislation.
Certification in Basic First Aid and Basic Safety to be completed within 6 to 12 months from
date of appointment.
Valid motor vehicle driver’s license (Code C1) plus PrDP.
3 Years relevant experience at an Artisan level in Municipal plumbing with knowledge of large
diameter water reticulation mains.
Computer Literacy.

**Preferred Requirements**:
Relevant 3 year tertiary qualification, i.e. National Diploma or Degree.
Valid drivers license (Code EC plus PDP).
4 Years relevant experience.
