**Job Description**:
**Legal Function key areas of responsibility**
- review and sign off legal documentation as prepared internally or externally
- maintain and review all contract templates to align with either regulatory changes and/or

**Compliance Function key areas of responsibility**:

- Provide support to Senior Compliance Manager in maintaining a sound compliance culture in the group companies through the achievement of established compliance deliverables;
- legislations such as Insurance Act, Policy Protection Rules, FAIS, COFI, TCF, NCA and POPIA.
- Establish and maintain training programmes in compliance with governing legislations such as Insurance Act, Policy Protection Rules, FAIS, COFI, TCF, NCA and POPIA.
- Leading and/or involvement in key compliance or business projects.

**Regulatory Relationships**
- Maintain relationships with regulatory bodies and assist with handling of complaints from regulators, supervisory bodies, ombuds, input into complaints received from or on behalf of consumers.

**Qualifications**:
**Qualifications & Skills Required Essential**:

- Legal degree (LLB)
- Admitted as a Legal Practitioner with the Legal Practice Council
- Sound and in-depth understanding of the Insurance Act, Policy Protection Rules, FAIS, COFI, TCF, NCA, POPIA, CPA and all regulations and guidance notes relating to the preceding legislation.
- Minimum 5 to 6 years post qualification experience of which 1 to 2 was in a legal and compliance managerial role within the financial services industry.
- Contract drafting is essential.
- Relevant Compliance Management Certificate and/or certification as a Compliance Practitioner /CPrac (SA) would be an advantage
