Working closely with the Banking Technology and Innovation Lead, your colleagues in the Value Creation Team and the Investment Team, you will:
Give expert advice and recommend solutions to the company's portfolio of companies (banks and fintech's) to optimize technology infrastructure and digital transformation initiatives.
Advise investees on technology roadmaps, vendor adjudication and vendor engagement.

**Drive “network effects” and synergies e.g.**: knowledge sharing between the client's portfolio of companies and from external experts into the company's network, aggregate purchasing power across the network for technology procurement.
Provide technical advisory and support to CIOs and technology teams within the client's portfolio of companies.
Report on technology risk and value creation to the company's stakeholders i.e., to the company's board both quarterly and annually; in consultation with the portfolio of companies create workplans and identify opportunities to leverage the company's Technical Assistance (TA) Facility for funding. Draft and present the TA proposals to the company's TA committee for approval.
Engage credibly with the company representatives on company boards and C-Suite executives on technology strategy and risk. Have gravitas to engage at senior level.
Stay up to date with the latest trends, advancements, and emerging technologies in the banking and financial services industry.
Demonstrate deep knowledge and expertise in banking systems, core banking platforms, digital banking solutions, payment systems, data analytics, cybersecurity, and cloud technologies.
Build and maintain an expert network and relationships with major technology vendors (Oracle, Temenos, Infosys etc.).

**Qualifications & skills required**:
Bachelor and/or Honors degree in Computer Science / Information Systems, with good academic record.
5 - 8 Years' relevant experience in Retail Banking technology roles ideally with a significant portion of it at one or more African banks.
Prior experience in some of the following (in order of importance):
Large technology transformation programs particularly Core Banking and Digital Channel Solutions' implementations
IT Architecture
Cybersecurity
Software Development and Integrations (middleware)
Automation, Robotics (RPA) and Straight Through Processing (STP)
IT Service Management
Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills

Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Self-starter, proactive - always looking to create value / push boundaries without being prompted.
A willingness and availability for periodic travel in the Sub Sahara African region
