**Vacancy - Merchandiser**

The following fixed term position based in Cape Townhas become vacant within Safe Top Retail Distributors (Pty) Ltd:
**JOB TITLE: Merchandiser**

**EDUCATION: Minimum Grade 12**

**EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 2 years merchandising experience within the retail sector**

**PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES & REQUIREMENTS**:

- Valid driver’s license essential
- Ability to travel far and stay away from home as and when required
- Computer Literacy
- Fluent in English and Afrikaans
- Attention to detail essential
- Ability to work under pressure and in a dynamic environment
- Sound decision-making skills and the ability to plan and prioritize
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to recommend solutions
- High energy levels
- Hard worker and self-motivated
- Teamwork

**MAIN ACTIVITIES OF THIS ROLE**

Accountable for merchandising, in-store activation, growth of an assigned territory or region that is of strategic importance to Safe Top.

Merchandising and display of products in such a way that it stimulates interest and entices customers to make a purchase.

Sell fasteners and hardware to Hardware Merchants, Building Supplies, Wholesalers and Co-ops.

Review past stock plans and estimate customer demands to secure “top up” orders from existing customers.

Develop long-term, sustainable business relationships with customers.

Ensure all stands are cleaned fully merchandised stands in store.

Ensure all point-of-sale material is in place.

Demonstrate products and services to existing and potential customers.
