Creative E-commerce Specialist: Copy-based:

We have a superb opportunity for an accomplished, Creative Copy-based e-Commerce Specialist to join the bright team at one of South Africa’s most highly sought-after agency’s Johannesburg office. We’re looking for a dynamic individual with great copywriting and conceptual skills to join the eCommerce division of the agency’s Digital Creative department. For this position you should be very analytical and have worked extensively with data. Your success measure will be winning performance work, a happy and productive performance team and your own seamless integration with the rest of the agency teams. This is an exciting role for a multi-skilled, senior creative problem solver with an optimistic, bright and brave outlook.
**Responsibilities**:
Day-to-Day
- Heading up our performance marketing team
- Producing data-led, effective campaigns that move the needle for our clients
- Integrating with the strategy and creative teams to ensure work is always of the highest quality
- Planning and executing both always-on and campaign-driven work
- Allocating and reviewing the work of the writers and designers that work under you
- Assisting our clients in producing effective first party data campaigns from their owned platforms
- Planning and implementing A/B testing that delivers results
- Use data to inform the strategy team on the effectiveness of benefits/reasons to believe/relevance to markets
- Refresh campaigns regularly to ensure conversion
- Create campaigns that are personalised
- Ensuring your team is motivated, happy and productive
- Provide training and upskilling for your team and agency at large
People

- You are also responsible for the happiness, performance and motivation levels of the performance marketing team

- You must be able to review and guide the work of the performance marketing team.
Planning
- You will be responsible for planning the campaigns that pass through your team
- Data should be at the heart of each campaign, ensuring that we are optimising with every iteration
- Tracking the long-term performance of your work is essential, especially when planning to refresh existing campaigns
- You will also be responsible for setting and reaching realistic benchmarks of success
- You are responsible for the quality of thinking that you and the teams under you produce
- This should be of a consistently high standard. You should be able to both develop and inspire great, fresh, impactful thinking
- Having an integrated view on work is essential, as is driving a strong digital agenda within the rest of the agency.
Execution
- You are the benchmark of quality and the standard for your discipline in the agency
- You should possess a strong understanding of writing for different need states, and for executions at the various stages of the conversion funnel
- You must be able to craft powerful and effective messages/calls to action
- Your writing for performance marketing should be beyond question and be the envy of all below you
- You will need to develop meaningful relationships with the relevant media houses and digital platforms to ensure your work is executed to your vision.
Presentation
- You will need to be able to present work well to the most senior clients and organisational heads
- You will be responsible for presenting your teams’ pitch work
- You will need to be able to present work right from strategy to creative execution.
Production
- You will be responsible for all production decisions: choice of suppliers and the quality of work you extract from them
- You should feel confident having the final say on work before it goes to client and the media.
**Requirements**:
- Industry relevant tertiary qualification
