Job Summary

It’s an exciting time to be part of IFF, we are looking for our next Senior Seasoning Flavorist to become part of our team based in Isando South Africa.

In this position you will have the opportunity to lead the Seasoning Creation for some of the most exciting projects in the Snack Category. Working in a team environment, IFF will be looking for you to drive innovation and creativity to assist our customers in enhancing their existing brand portfolio and in the launch of their new product lines.

The Senior Seasoning Flavorist works independently & as team member on all brief types. He/She works closely with sales on a regional level to drive creation & modification of winning Seasonings and demonstrates creative leadership in working with a regional team to maximize IFF technology & innovative practices.

The position involves strong interaction with customers, other technical teams, sales, operations, regulatory affairs, and global purchasing.

Major responsibilities include:
- Executing snack food customer briefs and commercial technology validation/implementation for the region.- Building cooperative relationships with other regional category technical counterparts essential for leveraging company technical resources in support of global briefs and technology implementation.- Developing consumer preferred flavor systems for key regional and global opportunities within project teams in focus categories.- Providing leadership to advance strategic category initiatives.- Providing cross-functional Project Management when designated as project leader.- Independently developing seasoning blends/flavor solutions that are market preferred through bench top product development, leveraging culinary input, technical innovation, and consumer insights.- Delivering flavor solutions in a cost effective manner to provide market and technical competitive advantages.- Providing insight and technical input for strategies to grow our business.- Providing seasonings product development support to our customers to include building and sustaining relationships across multiple levels and functions within customer’s organizations.- Demonstrating leadership by successfully working with Regional and Global contacts within assigned teams to ensure highest win rate possible by developing seasonings to requirements (regulatory and client restrictions) and building customer relationships.- Anticipating, investigating, and resolving issues related to raw materials, flavor systems, finished prototypes, and initial scale up procedures.- Participating directly and providing cross-functional leadership in strategic category and platform initiatives to build directed seasoning capabilities.- Participating in development programs for both trainee and junior Seasoning Flavorists.- Sets project and team priorities to ensure timely execution- Passionate about developing people, coaching, strategy, management, and leadership- Able to attract, develop, engage, and retain talent. Strong ability to work well with others and resolve conflicts- Execution of teams’ development plan using SMART objectives and personal aligned with Category and business objectives

**Required Skills**:
Top level competence in Seasoning creation and delivery systems for snacks end use- Expert tasting and evaluation skills in the snack & culinary segment- Proactively evaluates & determines added value of new materials and technologies- Outstanding team player with excellent communication skills- Fluent in English. Arabic and French languages are highly desirable

Required Experience- Minimum Bachelor (B.S.) Degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Chemistry, or other relevant discipline- Minimum 7 years’ experience in flavor industry creative function (Snack & Culinary segment)- Must have interacted with Global accounts
