**Position Overview**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Leadership: Provide guidance and leadership for the Learning Support Department (SBST) and to the Learning Support committees and educators.
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify learning disabilities, developmental delays, and emotional challenges.
- IEP Development: Collaborate with teachers and parents to create and review individualised education plans (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs.
- Educational Support Services: Deliver direct support to students with learning differences, both in and outside of the classroom, to ensure academic success and personal growth.
- Emotional Support Services: Offer counselling and emotional support to students facing social, emotional, or behavioural challenges.
- Professional Development: Facilitate ongoing professional development for educators to enhance their ability to support students with diverse learning needs.
- Stay updated on the latest research and trends in the field of educational psychology and learning support.
- Maintain accurate records of assessments, progress reports, and intervention plans.
- Data Analysis: Collect and analyse data on student progress and adjust support strategies as needed.
- Parent Collaboration: Work closely with parents to foster open communication, address concerns, an ensure a strong partnership in supporting students' learning.
- External Agency Reports: Complete necessary reports or information for external agencies, including examination concessions, to ensure that eligible students receive appropriate accommodations.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations regarding special education services.

Head the schools Intake Assessment Process - Create and conduct assessments as well as feedback sessions with prospective parents.

**Qualifications**:

- A relevant Honours or Masters degree in Educational Psychology or a related field.
- Sace certification as well as certification as a Licensed Educational Psychologist or similar credential (if applicable in your region).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in educational psychology and learning support.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in assessment tools and techniques.
- Knowledge of laws and regulations related to special education.
- Empathetic and patient with a deep commitment to student well-being.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of stakeholders.
