Senior Meter Reader

**Job Purpose**: To ensure the timeous acquisition of accurate electricity meter readings. **Key Responsibility Areas**: Supervise subordindates to ensure timeous and accurate reading of electricity meters in accordance with allocated read routes. Control of keys to customer premises, for those meters which are in the customers premises. Resolve meter reading access difficulties and process meter fault cards. Report suspected illegal use of electricity to the Revenue Protection Division. Service the allocation and sequencing of connections to read routes and undertake specific meter readings as required. Monitor and motivate subordinate staff in respect of their performance, training and development and conduct. Promote safety and accident prevention in the workplace. Undertake the disconnection and reconnection of "safe" electricity supplies under special circumstances, timeously. Promote good customer relations in accordance with Batho Pele principles. Control the allocation and utilisation of vehicles. **Essential Requirements**: Matric/Grade 12. Valid motor vehicle driving license (Code B). 12 Months relevant experience. Computer Literacy. **Preferred Requirements**: Matric/Grade 12 plus relevant certificate accredited by SAQA. 18 Months relevant experience. **Housing Subsidy**: Yes** Leave**: Yes** Medical Aid**: Yes** Other Allowances**: No** Pension Fund**: Yes** Remuneration**: R 188 746.24 - R 245 011.95** 13th Cheque**: Yes
