Legal Secretary

To carry out secretarial and reception duties in the Howick office by attending to the daily administrative functions i.e. typing, phone calls, client queries, diary, and all other related secretarial and conveyancing secretarial duties as well as attending to switchboard and clients at reception. Administrative assistance to the Associate.
1. Take responsibility of running the Howick office in and run the office in a professional and confidential manner.
2. Answering and screening calls for the Associate and Directors.
3. Performing secretarial duties for the relevant attorney’s
4. Making appointments for relative Directors when they will be attending Howick office.
5. Liaising with the professional’s secretary when setting appointments and ensuring the attorney is available.
6. Attending to and assisting clients at reception.
7. Dictaphone typing of correspondence, conveyancing documents, agreements, wills etc. for the professional staff.
8. Attend the Umgeni Municipality to collect any rates certificates for Howick and/or Pietermaritzburg office as requested.
9. Delivering documents to the Howick Magistrate.
**Minimum requirements for the position include**:
1. Grade 12
2. Minimum 5-10 years working experience in a similar position
3. Secretarial/Reception Experience in a legal firm would be advantageous
**4. Computer literacy**:
**Sound experience and skills in**:
MS Word (average)
MS Excel (intermediate)

5. Basic bookkeeping knowledge
6. Valid Driver’s License (Code 08) and own vehicle
