**Position Summary**:
As a **Stock Controller** at Chicano Customs, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient management of parts, consumables, and workshop resources. You will be responsible for overseeing part storage, procurement, and invoice allocation while implementing systems that improve cost-efficiency and reduce wastage. Key duties include organizing stripped vehicle parts, managing consumable stock levels, sourcing and comparing part prices, tracking all purchases, and maintaining proper documentation for orders and returns. You will also support route and schedule planning for the driver to optimize operations. Working closely with the Workshop Manager and reporting directly to CEO, you will be expected to implement and maintain a comprehensive stock control system that includes physical inventory, digital records, and photographic documentation. This role demands strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to improving workshop efficiency and cost control.
- **Part Storage & Organization**:Ensure that all parts stripped off customers' vehicles are boxed, labeled, stored correctly, and that there is a record of where these parts are stored.
- **Consumables Management**:Ensure sufficient quantities of consumables are available to avoid production stoppages. Stock must be ordered carefully to avoid overordering.
- **Timely & Affordable Purchases**:Ensure that parts are ordered in a timely manner and at affordable prices.
- **Price Comparison**: Compare prices from different suppliers, ensuring that parts are bought at the best possible price. Some parts will be bought new, while others may be second-hand.
- **Invoice Allocation**:Ensure that invoices for ordered parts are allocated to the correct car and department.
- **Priority System for Parts Ordering**:Follow the priority system for purchasing parts, which is based on the customer vehicle's assigned P-number (P1 - Urgent, P2 - Next week, P3 - Month end).
- **Driver Route & Schedule Planning**:Plan drivers' routes and schedules to minimize fuel wastage.
- **Invoice Documentation**:Ensure all purchases have a corresponding invoice.
- **Documentation for Returns & Pictures**:Ensure that all returns are documented, including photographs of the parts when applicable.
- **Stock Control System**:Develop a stock control system that includes tracking the location of parts, pictures, and well-documented records.
- **Stock Take**:Begin with conducting a stock take and ensure proper documentation.
- **Eliminate Wastage**:Eliminate stock wastage by questioning repetitive requests, such as if an employee asks for thinners multiple days in a row, and ensure a system is implemented to avoid unnecessary consumption.
- **Implementation of System**:If you possess the skills and experience you have claimed, implement a system that will save costs for the business and improve stock control.
