Senior Diesel Technician

A great opportunity has become available for a** Senior Diesel Technician** to join our team.

This role is ideally suited to an energetic individual with a can-do attitude who is knowledgeable on the latest technology with regards to energy savings by using technology to reduce generator loads.

**Duties include but are not limited to the following**:
**Sales**:

- Provide technical information about generator services to potential customers
- Managing all external and internal enquiries received, ensuring that each request is attended to in a timely manner
- Develop sales opportunities for solar and backup solutions
- ook for prospective sales and generator leasing leads and look to grow the business

**Generator Management**:

- Ensure that monthly generator inspections and “no-load” tests occur.
- Ensure that monthly generator management reports for clients are kept up to date and sent out.
- Maintain and schedule annual services of generators.
- Oversee all repairs and maintenance to generators
- Ensure that generator failures are attended during normal and after hours.
- Ensure monthly cleaning schedule is followed

**Generator Refuelling Management**:

- Ensure that the schedule of refuelling generators is followed.
- Arrange for the acquisition of diesel supplies and arrange for delivery thereof.
- Ensure that emergency and after hours refuelling is attended to

**Technical Support**
- Manage technical support for Generator faults. (normal and after hours)
- Manage and assist various FGH entities, Retirement Villages, etc with technical support.
- Support other operational staff.

**Manage Direct Reports**
- Millwright, Diesel Technician, Diesel Refueller and General Worker

**Qualifications**:

- BSc/BEng/BTech in Mechanical Engineering

**Experience and Knowledge**:

- Proven experience in generator management

**Skills and Attributes**:

- Has excellent organisational and time management skills
- Has good leadership skills
- Technical background.
- Computer literate
- Good communication skills (verbal and written)
- Able to work independently and within a team
- Customer service orientated
- Inquisitive and willing to explore new technologies
- Reliable and responsible

**Specific Requirements**:

- Clear health record

We offer Barista produced coffee available all day to all our staff at Claremont.

Normal working hours are Mondays to Fridays from 08h00 until 17h00 with a 45 minute lunch break. The company allows employees, by approval of the direct manager, to work flexi-time between 07h00 and 18h00.

With centrally located and modern offices just across from Cavendish in Claremont, Faircape offers a market-related salary from R 45 000 Cost to Company per month. The amount offered will be dependent on qualifications, experience and other market-related factors.
