Head of Credit - Strategy & Business Development of the loan/credit services

An exciting opportunity has become available for the Head of Credit.

To be the business owner responsible for the development and management of the loans/credit product portfolio. The role is accountable to manage the overall functioning and profitability of loan products.

The Head of Credit reports directly to the Head of Product Incubation. This position is responsible for strategically ensuring the profitability, development and management of loan/credit services. The Head of Credit will be responsible for the planning and managing of projects for implementation of loan products and monitoring of overall product performance. The role will be responsible to ensure systems, processes and controls are in place and legally compliant to different country regulatory requirements. They will be responsible for stakeholder engagement and sustainability across various departments and countries.

**Duties and Responsibilities (Include but is not limited to)**:

- Contribute to development of loan services across existing and new markets where the Company operates
- Identify opportunities to expand product and service offerings
- Ensure opportunities are strategically and legally viable
- Create and execute strategies to maximise loan services profits in sustainable way
- Carry out market analysis and monitoring of micro and macro influences
- Conduct competitor analysis as well as gap analysis
- Develop people, processes, and the tech solutions for loan/credit services in collaboration with different stakeholders internally and externally
- Collaborate with in-country representatives with regards to projects and partnerships
- Managing loan/credit products and underlying infrastructure across multiple territories
- Take full responsibility for the P&L of the credit products
- Observe trends and manage resource allocated to loan services
- Monitor the usage of the product and implement recommendations for increasing current usage
- Manage the scalability of the product
- Replicate loan services to other countries
- Actively manage and reduce the risk of the loan/credit portfolio
- Monitor current service levels of the product
- Identify improvements to current service
- Identify ways to optimize current processes and procedures
- Liaise with relevant stakeholders to implement changes and improvements
- Act as contact person for the loan services
- Build beneficial relationships with the relevant financial services boards and suppliers
- Ensure all licenses are in place for the loan’s services
- Monitor expiry dates and ensure no license expires
- Ensure all compliance aspects are covered by liaising with the compliance team
- Manage customer risk profiling to mitigate undue business risk
- Work closely with Marketing to create/update card promotional material, design and run advertising campaigns
- Work closely with Agents to promote utilisation of loan services
- Ensure the relevant teams are driving adoption as well as improving usage
- Resolve escalated service queries timeously
- Investigate technical queries and refer to IT when required
- Provide input into fraud cases
- Design and manage collections services to reduce bad debtors
- Review loan/credit services systems and support systems
- Identify areas which are not efficient or effective
- Propose recommendations to strategically improve systems and processes
- Implement and monitor improvements
- Gather accurate information regarding loan services performance statistics
- Ensure all information is included on monthly operational reports

**Key Requirements**:

- Bachelors degree or Advanced Diploma
- License, Certificate, Registration Required (Relevant certifications & Professional memberships)
