**Signal Hill Products is looking for a Packaging Manager**

**Position/Title: Packaging Manager**
**Reports Too: GM Supply**
**Function Packaging**
**Area South Africa**
**Number of Reports 6 Direct (48 in org)**

**Overall Responsibility**:
The Packaging Manager manages and overseas the packaging staff on designated shift to achieve operational objectives. Observes, analyses, and researches packaging line operation to develop and implement scientific and efficient processes.

**Focus Area : Packaging Manager**
Manage and coordinate all packaging aspects (bottling, canning and kegging) in a highly efficient manner
Start-up and shutdown of utilities and equipment
Management and co-ordination of all staff on packaging lines
Ensure accurate and legible coding and labelling of all containers
Oversee routine daily maintenance of all equipment and liaise with maintenance for required shutdowns
Ensure products meet and adhere to all product specifications
Maintain accurate and detailed daily run logs
Maintain an orderly and safe work environment within department as well as entire facility
Assist in other departments or perform other tasks as needed

Maintain, monitor and improve line efficiency
Innovation and improvements with the primary aim of driving higher levels of staff and line performance

**Focus Area 3: Leadership, People Management and Development**
Support and entrench the company culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, key employee retention and development, and high performance.
Inspire and motivate the broader SHP team (not just your direct reports) to deliver on goals and maximize individual and the overall company performance
Provide overside and direction to your team
Monitor staff performance and increase efficiencies
Recruit, development and performance management of your direct reports

**Requirements of the Role**
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
Relevant Tertiary degree in the food and beverage industry
3-5 years experience working in a brewery or other consumable goods production facility.
**Preferred Skills/Competencies**
Strong competancy with Excell and other computer skills
Work well independently and cooperatively with others
Strong communication skill spanning all levels within the organization
Mechanical aptitude for equipment repairs and trouble shooting
Must possess a valid driver’s license
Flexible schedule to accommodate seasonal production demands
