Our client is searching for an experienced Bookkeeper who will be based at their Durban offices

**Key Performance Areas**

Recording of Entries into the Pastel Accounting System

Update Monthly Spreadsheets for all Debit and Credit Entries & Import onto Accounting System

Reconciliation of All Bank Accounts

Process and Manage General Ledger Transactions

Update Suppliers Ledger on a monthly basis

Allocation of all Supplier Payments and Produce a Supplier Aged Analysis

Maintain an accurate set of General Ledger Accounts

Prepare Month End up to Trial Balance

Assist the Reconciliation Team with the Stores Banking

Assist the Reconciliation Team with Store Variances

Update and Manage Fixed Asset Registers

Prepare Annual Turnover Figures for Audit Purposes

Prepare Annual PAYE Reconciliation

Prepare Annual Vat Reconciliation

**Requirements & Key Competencies**

Matric

Bookkeeping Diploma essential

5 years’ experience as a Bookkeeper with good accounting knowledge

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Must have Pastel experience

Professionalism and Organisational skills

High attention to detail

Produce work with a high level of accuracy

Strong multitasking abilities

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Reliability and strong work ethic

Excellent time management

Flexible

Team player

Honesty & Integrity

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Durban, KwaZulu-Natal: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- Diploma (required)

**Experience**:

- Bookkeeper: 5 years (required)
- good accounting knowledge: 5 years (required)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel: 5 years (required)
- Pastel Accounting: 5 years (required)
- Prepare Annual Turnover Figures for Audit Purposes: 5 years (required)
- Prepare Annual PAYE Reconciliation: 5 years (required)
- Prepare Annual Vat Reconciliation: 5 years (required)
