**Requirements**:
**Minimum educational qualification**:
General Education and Training Certificate (GETC)/ grade 9 (Std 7).

**Experience**:
Appropriate experience.

**Inherent requirements of the job**:
Willingness to work shifts including weekends, public holidays, and night duty.

Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape.

**Competencies (knowledge/skills)**:
Good interpersonal relations skills.

Ability to work in a co-operative way within a team context.

**Duties (key result areas/outputs)**:
Decontamination, packing and sterilization of instruments linen and supplies.

Assist with cleaning and testing of sterilisation equipment, washing machine and autoclaves.

Maintain equipment in an optimum working condition and utilisation of resources.

Use autoclaves, washing machines and equipment/consumables in a cost-effective manner.

Monitor, control and maintain adequate stock levels.

Report and assist with the investigation of lost instruments/equipment.
