Architectural Intern

The Meetinghouse Facilities Department (MFD) assists individuals and families qualify for exaltation by helping members live the gospel of Jesus Christ. To do this, MFD makes essential gospel teachings, resources, and services accessible to all in a simple and affordable way. Furthermore, MFD provides dignified places of worship; and help strengthen all areas toward self-reliance. The incumbent in this position has primary accountability for the development and construction of assigned major construction projects.
- Assists in drafting and documenting design proposals for projects throughout the Area.
- Produce design details, specifications and technical drawings for on going projects
- Maintain and update our current Standards for facilities within the Area.
- Assure continuous expertise in architectural practice by attending to Continues Professional Development (CPD) requirements.
- Participate in the research and analysis of systems, products and processes available in the industry that may or may not prove beneficial and appropriate for use on Church projects.
- Contribute to the success and improvement of the MFD department.
- Maintain the area facility database by producing building Capacity Calculations
- Assist in training and vetting of consultants and contractors on church standards of quality.
- Assist Project Clerks in the establishment and maintenance of an approved vendor list.
- Must hold a current / valid temple recommend and/or be worthy to hold one.
- A National Diploma or higher qualification in architecture is required.
- Professional registration is preferred; if unlicensed the incumbent will be assisted to obtain professional registration.
- Must be a Young Adult between 18 and 35 years old.
- No work experience required. Skills set required: Problem solving, Analytical, Logical thinking, Good communicator, Presentable, Self-driven, and Reliable.
- Must be willing to travel throughout the Africa South Area.
