Duties/Pligte
- Developing education students' knowledge and teaching methodology of language and literacy education (Afrikaans) in the Foundation Phase.
- Developing and evaluating learning and teaching materials for the language and literacy courses (Afrikaans) in the B.Ed Foundation Phase programme.
- Developing education students' knowledge and teaching methodology for teaching emerging and early literacy (in and for Afrikaans).
- Participating in social impact projects and rendering appropriate services to the University and teaching community.
- Administrative responsibilities relevant to the job level concerned.
- Supervising and co-supervising postgraduate students at honours, masters and doctoral level.
- Research and publication in language and literacy education in the Foundation Phase, and/or Early Childhood Development, or any other specialisation area relevant to the focus area of the post.
- Contributing to academic administration and leadership in the discipline, Department and Faculty.

- en geletterdheidsonderrig (Afrikaans) in die Grondslagfase.
- Ontwikkeling en evaluering van leer
- en onderrigmateriaal vir die taal
- en geletterdheidskursusse (Afrikaans) in die B.Ed Grondslagfase-program.
- Ontwikkel onderwysstudente se kennis en onderrigmetodologie vir die onderrig van ontluikende
- en vroeë geletterdheid (in en vir Afrikaans).
- Deelname aan sosiale impakprojekte en lewering van toepaslike dienste aan die Universiteit en onderwysgemeenskap.
- Administratiewe verantwoordelikhede tersaaklik tot die betrokke posvlak.
- Tree op as studieleier of mede-studieleier van nagraadse studente op honneurs-, meesters
- en doktorale vlak.
- Navorsing en publikasie in taal
- en geletterdheidsonderrig in die grondslagfase, en/of vroeë kinderontwikkeling, of enige ander spesialisgebied tersaaklik tot die fokusarea van die pos.
- Dra by tot akademiese administrasie en leierskap in die dissipline, Departement en Fakulteit.

Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes
- A relevant PhD with language and literacy education in the Foundation Phase and/or early childhood development as core focus.
- Experience of teaching language and literacy education (Afrikaans) in the Foundation Phase and/or early childhood development in higher education contexts.
- Experience of postgraduate supervision in language and literacy education in the Foundation Phase and/or early childhood development.
- Research and publication in language and literacy education in the Foundation Phase and/or early childhood development.
- Peer-reviewed papers delivered at recognised education conferences.

- 'n Toepaslike PhD met taal
- en geletterdheidsonderrig in die Grondslagfase en/of vroeë kinderontwikkeling as fokus.
- Ervaring met die onderrig van taal
- en geletterdheidsonderrig (Afrikaans) in die Grondslagfase en/of vroeë kinderontwikkeling in hoëronderwyskontekste.
- Ervaring met nagraadse studieleiding in taal
- en geletterdheidsonderwys in die Grondslagfase en/of vroeë kinderontwikkeling.
- Navorsing en publikasies/navorsingsuitsette in taal
- en geletterdheidsonderrig in die Grondslagfase en/of vroeë kinderontwikkeling.
- Referate gelewer by erkende onderwyskonferensies.

Recommendation/Aanbeveling
- National Research Foundation (NRF) rating.
- Experience in and/or knowledge of Foundation Phase and/or early childhood development in South African education contexts.
- Deep-seated interest in and knowledge of current South African education policies.
- Experience and / or knowledge of technology-aided language education, and a basic knowledge of a second additional official South African language.
- Nasionale Navorsingstigting (NNS) gradering.
- Ervaring in en/of kennis van Grondslagfase en/of vroeë kinderontwikkeling in Suid-Afrikaanse onderwyskontekste,
- Diepgaande belangstelling in, en kennis van, huidige Suid-Afrikaanse onderwysbeleide.
- Ervaring en/of kennis van, tegnologie-ondersteunde taalonderrig en 'n basiese kennis van 'n tweede addisionele amptelike Suid-Afrikaanse taal.
