Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced **National Sales Manager** to oversee and manage all sales activities on a national scale. This individual will play a critical role in planning, implementing, and executing sales strategies to achieve company objectives across the entire sales network.

**Responsibilities**:

- **Strategic Planning**: Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve sales targets and expand market share nationwide.
- **Team Management**: Manage and lead a team of area managers, sales representatives, and external service providers to ensure effective execution of sales activities.
- **Operational Sales Management**: Oversee operational sales functions including managing agents, sales reps, and other sales-related operations.
- **Retailer Engagement**: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key retailers and ensure thorough understanding and utilisation of all retailer portals.
- **Data Analysis**: Extract, analyse, and utilize data from retailer portals to drive sales strategies, implement improvements, and optimize performance.
- **Key Account Management**: Work closely with key accounts, providing support and guidance to ensure successful management and growth.
- **Reporting**: Provide regular and accurate reporting on sales performance, market trends, and competitor activities to senior management.
- **Implementation of Initiatives**: Implement initiatives to improve sales processes, optimise resources, and enhance overall sales efficiency and effectiveness.
- **Training and Development**: Provide training and development opportunities for the sales team to enhance their skills and capabilities.
- **Budget Management**: Manage sales budgets effectively, monitoring expenses and ensuring alignment with company objectives.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales management within the FMCG Foods industry on a national level.
- Strong understanding of third-party merchandising companies and experience working with major retailers such as PnP, Spar, Shoprite etc.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and draw actionable insights.
- Exceptional leadership and team management abilities.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel nationally as required.
