**Main Purpose of The Role**

The mission Operational Finance Specialist is to analyze the financial position, reporting of different modes within the branch. The Operational Finance Specialist needs to support the Senior Operational Finance Lead with clear and objective comments on different daily business matters based on the branch performance and provide operations with a means of guidance on its decisions regarding its business performance. Support the branch with clear and objective comments on complex financial topics based on control of the financial statements and provides R-SSC controlling & reporting department with a means of guidance in its decision regarding company financial policy.

**Minimum Requirements**
- Matric / Grade 12
- BCOM - Accounting or Freight Forwarding qualification
- Qualified controller (or similar finance role) with at least 2 years' of proven controlling experience with solid experience in both business performance, planning & analysis and financial accounting.
- Excellent communications skills (telephone, written & presentation)
- Understand tools and methods employed for effective communication

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Review of financial figures in SAP BPC (P/L, B/S, Cashflow) & comment on deviations against budget and last year and provide detail comments on the main events that occurred during the month.
- Control of the opex closing procedure in order to ensure that the various costs for the branch are recorded in the correct period and department.
- Be involved in the budget process and guide the branch departments through the different stages (i.e. target, cost allocation, etc.)
- Prepare the P&L budget based on the SAP BPC tools.
- Participate in internal audit missions to assess potential risk / profits within the branch.
- Reply to questions from R-SSC regarding the reporting figures.
- Review the risk of balance sheet files
- Be the point of contact between the Local Controlling/finance and the business.
- Analyze and improve the different process regarding the estimations of the work in progress and gross profit.
- Be the point of contact between the regional Financial Controlling team and Operations.
- Analyze the branch results and propose different initiatives to improve the profitability.
- Follow-up the evolution of the gross profit in terms of volumes/margin and deliver a forecast for month end.
- Ensure that the different financial processes are respected locally/regionally not only by the finance employees but also operational persons.
- Provide ad hoc financial information to the branch management.
- Ad hoc duties for the Senior Operational Finance Lead.
