Senior Professional Officer Business Continuity
**Requirements**:

- Bachelor Degree / related 3-year Tertiary qualification
- Minimum of 5 - 8 years relevant experience
- A valid driver’s license

Key Performance Areas
- Conduct internal and external research on BCM and

Plans, systems, and policies.
- Continuously review business continuity SOP to

maintain alignment with best practices and related City of
Cape Town governance standards
- Coordinate, facilitate Business Impact Assessment and

guide development of business continuity plans throughout the
City with key role-players,
- Facilitate simulation of continuity plans, ensuring that

plans are rehearsed with various departments
- Communicating risks identified during the execution of

the BCM processes via established mechanisms for absorption
into the Integrated Risk Management system and processes.
- Partake in organisational resilience related projects

initiated by the Risk and Resilience department

department, perform peer reviews on completed BIAs &
BPs including reports for various functional areas.
- Generate reports and present at various managerial

levels across the City of Cape Town
- Assess extent of BCM maturity within functions and across

the City for the purpose of continual improvement
- Facilitate BCM training and awareness and promote

business continuity across the City by coordinating
buy-in of stakeholders
- Communicate, mentor and transfer relevant knowledge

to role-players in BCM environment
