Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with a focus in business planning, strategy/policy

development or spatial planning, financial planning and project

management
- Minimum of three (3) years’ relevant experience within local

government
- Demonstrated ability to develop and draft corporate policies and

strategies
- Thorough understanding of local government legislation and main

legislative processes as it pertains to the MSA and MFMA
- Understanding of the built environment from a spatial perspective
- Valid driver’s licence.

Key Performance Areas
- Assist the manager by leading developmental functions to ensure

the effective development of a legally compliant Integrated

Development Plan and its implementation through business planning

and other strategic planning processes
- Plan and project manage legislative and related IDP functions
- Monitor and align the different Directorates’ strategies and

operational/sector plans to the IDP as the City of Cape Town’s

corporate strategy
- Facilitate and support the implementation of various strategies and

support IDP through various projects that contribute to the IDP

development, drafting and reviewing thereof
- Ensure coordination by analysing, researching, planning and

coordinating various functions that support the development of the

IDP.
