This role is responsible for designing and executing learning and development strategies, systems, and solutions, as well as talent assessment and development programmes. It plays a critical role in developing critical and scarce skills, providing leadership development opportunities, and creating competency models to enable the organisation to achieve its strategic objectives.
**Job Description**:
Key Accountabilities:
LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT
- Designing and delivering comprehensive learning and development programmes to enhance employee skills and competencies.
- Identifying learning needs, curating relevant content, and implementing effective learning solutions to drive employee growth and performance
LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT SYSTEMS & SOLUTIONS
- Implementing and managing learning and development systems and platforms to support seamless and efficient learning experiences.
- Leveraging technology and digital solutions to enhance the accessibility and effectiveness of learning initiatives.
TALENT ASSESSMENT AND DEVELOPMENT
- Conducting talent assessments to identify high-potential employees and their development needs.
- Designing and delivering targeted development programmes to cultivate and nurture talent across the organisation
CHANGE MANAGEMENT
- Leading change management initiatives related to learning and development to drive successful adoption of new programmes and practices.
- Ensuring effective communication, stakeholder engagement, and change readiness to minimise resistance and maximise engagement.
DEVELOPING CRITICAL & SCARCE SKILLS
- Identifying critical and scarce skills required for organisational success.
- Designing and implementing skill development initiatives to build expertise and ensure a sustainable talent pipeline.
LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
- Creating and implementing leadership development programmes to cultivate and strengthen leadership capabilities.
- Providing coaching, mentoring, and feedback to leaders to enhance their effectiveness and drive organisational performance.
COMPETENCY MODEL
- Developing and implementing competency models that define the skills, knowledge, and behaviours required for current and future roles.
- Integrating competency models into talent management processes to drive effective recruitment, performance management, and career development.
DATA ANALYTICS
- Utilising data analytics to measure the effectiveness and impact of learning and development interventions.
- Conducting ROI analysis to evaluate the return on investment and make data-driven decisions to optimise L&D strategies.
Minimum requirements:
**Education**:
- Post Graduate Degree: Honours Degree, Post Graduate Diploma and Professional Qualifications [NQF8]
Preferred Experience:
- 12 - 15 years’ experience and a proven track record in a strategic Learning & Development Leadership role across broad functional areas.
- 10 years’ experience developing and implementing strategic approaches, processes, and systems for Learning & Development as part of an Executive Human Resources Team.
- Extensive experience in contributing to and implementing long-term strategies, collaborating and promoting integration across value chains, dealing with external stakeholders, driving human centricity, and leading a senior team is essential.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Sound business acumen and judgement and awareness of developments in the marketplace (economic, socio-political, technological and regulatory) considering revenue, risk and cost implications in deploying leadership and learning processes and practices
- Strategic thinking - ability to consider issues broadly and develop strategies to achieve critical outcomes
- Ability to influence and empower the broader people community to implement a comprehensive total rewards strategy aligned with the organisation's goals and objectives.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities
- Demonstrated leadership skills and effective team management
- High self-awareness, situational awareness and integrity

Postgraduate Degrees and Professional Qualifications: Business, Commerce and Management Studies (required)
