A. Job Purpose

To provide strategic insight and direction, lead investment teams, negotiate and implement identified property and investment transactions, and effectively oversee the Group’s portfolio of investments. Consider the optimal capital allocation across the Group’s investments and represent the Groups’ interests in the investments’ governance structures.

B. Who The Position Reports To

The Executive - Group Investments reports to the Group CEO.

D. Experience
- A minimum of 5-8 years property investment and related experience.
- A good understanding of direct property and REIT (listed property) fundamentals.
- Strong experience leading, supervising, and motivating a team of investment professionals within property sector.
- Strategic thinker and proficient in decision-making.
- Ability to communicate effectively and in a professional manner.

E. Qualifications

A post graduate degree in finance or a relevant field from an accredited institution.

F. Competencies
- Must have outstanding written presentation and oral communication skills.
- Must be able to work alongside investment portfolio management teams and across other functional areas within the Group.
- Must be able to inspire and influence individual performance at different organisational levels.
- Must be competent on applicable stock exchange requirements and Takeover Panel requirements in jurisdictions applicable to underlying listed investment portfolio.
- Experience of acting as Director on listed and unlisted company boards
- Strong analytical skills.

- Highly organised and detail orientated.
- Numerically astute with ability to navigate financial models.

G. Duties & Responsibilities
- Communicate clear and well-informed investment recommendations based on thorough research and analysis.
- Liaise with fund managers, research analysts, company managers, stock market traders, and regulators with a view to promoting access to capital and improving market perception of the Group.
- Conduct market research on the relevant property investment markets and gather market intelligence to enhance the value of the underlying investment portfolios.
- Participate in financial briefing provided by the investment managers and analysts.
- Contribute to ensuring that all investment compliance regulations are met.
- Represent Growthpoint’s interests on various investments’ governance structures
- Provide updates on financial markets activities to appropriately position the company in local and global markets.

H. Role Location

Growthpoint Head Office in Sandton, Johannesburg. The Company will accommodate some flexibility in this regard.
