**Role Purpose**

The Risk Finance division of Marsh Advisory currently has a vacancy for a Senior Risk Finance Consultant. The Risk Finance division assists organisations in assessing, optimising, placing and managing Risk Finance facilities. This is done with the goal of assisting organisations to structure the optimal balance between risk retention and transfer.

**Main duties & Responsibilities**
- Responsibility for a portfolio of renewal revenue from renewing Cell Captives and Contingency Policies. The typical responsibilities include:

- Working with the actuarial team in the review of the actuarial loss forecasting, including review of the forecast assumptions to determine an optimised insurance programme
- Obtaining terms from various risk finance underwriters and assistance with the selection of the most appropriate underwriter
- Finalisation of terms with the underwriter including the cross checking of proposed terms and confirmation to the client
- Issuing policy documentation and review of the risk finance insurance policy wording including insurance regulations, potential tax and accounting implications
- Collection of premium and remittance to the underwriter
- Reviewing monthly paid and outstanding claims report prepared by the claims department to determine accuracy of claims to be submitted to the contingency / cell captive underwriter
- Summarising and submitting monthly paid and outstanding claims reports to the contingency / cell captive underwriter
- Reviewing burning of aggregates
- Attend client risk finance meetings for feedback and discussions as required.
- Review monthly risk finance financial statements including outstanding claims and submit cover letter and statements to client.
- Renewal procedures, including attendance of internal strategy meetings, issuing of renewal invoices and evaluation of the available capacity as determined by the applicable experience account balance
- Strong business development drive - An Expanded and New Revenue target to be achieved by expanding existing renewal client revenue and sourcing new clients, supported by Marsh’s existing client base within brokerage and advisory, and external to the firm.
- Interpretation of relevant legislation in line with client requirements - Insurance Acts, Regulations, Policyholder Protection Rules, within the South African context, and to other countries, where required.
- Risk finance advice to clients with Alternative Risk Finance facilities.
- Regulation such as Solvency Assessment and Management process
- Developing and managing relationships with Clients, Insurance Markets and internally within Marsh, with brokers and insurance professionals.

**Qualifications, Experience & Skills required**
- B Com or similar
- FAIS- RE1/5 exam is an advantage
- Insurance qualification an advantage
- Numeracy and writing skills
- 5 years or more experience in insurance
- Experience in risk finance is an advantage
- Client orientated and servicing skills
- Accounting skillset an advantage
- Initiative and ability to work with some independence with existing clients and new business prospects
- Computer literacy including intermediate skills in Excel, PowerPoint and word.
- Client sales/servicing experience with income targets required
