Note: if you have not been contacted within 30 days of the closing date of this advertisement please consider your We urge all our employees, clients, members of the public and our suppliers to report any kind of fraud or corruption at **_ Operating Division : Transnet Property_** **_ Position Title : Analyst Strategic Sourcing_** **_ Employee Group : Permanent_** **_ Department : Supply Chain_** **_ Location : Johannesburg_** **_ Reporting To : Strategic Sourcing Manager_** **_ Grade Level : F_** **_ Reference Number : 80000471_** **_ Position Purpose:_** - Generates data analysis for value capture (strategic sourcing, SRM) and enablement processes - Conducts data analysis for supplier market assessments and internal demand planning as inputs for sourcing strategies and to support the tender process. - Collates data (spend data, contract utilisation, material master and service master utilisation) for Transnet Property and from suppliers and produce reports as required. - Generate dashboards for visibility of critical enablers for strategic sourcing. **_Position outputs:_** Role Overview - Support the team by providing strong analytical and research capabilities throughout the strategic sourcing process. - Conduct research, monitor applicable market, and develop strategic sourcing expertise. - Assist in the category management process, including but not limited to supporting sourcing strategies, monitoring performance and compliance, managing communications, and developing improvement opportunities. - Organise and document all analysis steps and assumptions for future reference and supports ongoing reporting. - Where necessary, assist with tender execution. Research / Analysis - Analysis and reporting on strategic commodities market performance including through analysis of cost drivers. - Research and analyse the supply market and supplier capabilities to provide the tactical team and other stakeholders with insights. - Provide analytical support for new targets and expectations. Strategic Sourcing Support - Support alignment with Transnet Property’s priorities and savings targets. - Conduct analyses to help establish and revise performance expectation. - Assist with creating dashboards for commodities procurement index models. - Monitor established contracts and realisation of savings. - Provide supplier performance status updates and savings realisation. - Analyse spend data to enable decision making when categorising commodities, suppliers and customers - Analyse and provide supporting business case to refine performance expectations and identify process improvement opportunities - Support development of change management plans and communication plans. **_ Qualifications & Experience:_** - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in relevant field - MBA or related postgraduate qualification advantageous - 6-8 years of related operational category management/strategic sourcing experience - Research and Analytical skills - PFMA, PPPFA and public sector Procurement experience - MCIPS certification will be advantageous - Standard Job Requirements- Driver’s license code 08 - Travel as required and approved **_ Competencies:_** - Problem Solving / Resolution- Supports strategies and business plans to achieve the strategic sourcing direction - Generates new ideas or solutions by thinking "outside of the box" - Understands and deals with various business situation using obtained knowledge and a broad spectrum of expertise - Thinks in a systematic way but is open to new approaches - Identifies areas of risks and implements corrective actions to mitigate the impact thereof to ensure overall sustainability. - Technical Skills- Ability to conduct efficient, high quality (quantitative & qualitative) analyses and market research, extensive database management experience- Conduct analysis to prepare for negotiations; spend analysis, market analysis, building TCO and “should-cost” models - Knowledge of Procurement tools / technologies (e.g. ERP System) - Commodity management, strategic sourcing - Demonstrable stakeholder and interpersonal relationship skills - Proven experience in managing a variety of spend categories and an achievement in cost reduction strategies - Advanced reporting, communication, presentation, organisation and negotiation skills for management of processes and projects. - Relationship Management / Negotiations- Leads by example.
