Note: if you have not been contacted within 30 days of the closing date of this advertisement please consider your We urge all our employees, clients, members of the public and our suppliers to report any kind of fraud or corruption at **_ Operating Division : Transnet Corporate Centre_** **_ Position Title : Strategic Sourcing Manager_** **_ Employee Group : Permanent_** **_ Department : Supply Chain_** **_ Location : Johannesburg_** **_ Reporting To : General Manager : Procurement Operations_** **_ Grade Level : E_** **_ Reference Number : 6003990_** **_ Position Purpose:_** - Accountable for End to End Sourcing Process - Accountable for holistic profiling of spend, demand specifications and embedding best practices in the sourcing process per Sourcing Transaction for the OD - Accountable for leveraging strategic sourcing best practices, negotiations, data insights for sourcing strategy and engagements **_ Position outputs:_** - Oversee creation of the spend profiles, purchasing practices / processes, requirements and specifications for all required RFPs - Oversee research/collation of inputs used as inputs into the purchasing strategy - Accountable for the execution of all business change strategies used to transform current - Oversee the implementation of all strategic plans for sourcing, collaborating with the Procurement teams and other ODs as required to deliver best practices - Owner of the end to end Procurement cycle within OD from sourcing to contract drafting as Required. - Oversee sourcing spend, working with teams to source best value while maximising returns - Accountable for building / maintain relationships with suppliers, end users and other Procurement team members Research / Analysis - Monitor performance; comparison of actual versus expected against SLAs/KPIs, collaborating with end users and other teams - Research and analyse the supply market and supplier capabilities to remain informed of all sourcing strategy / execution relevant insights - Provide analytical support for new targets and expectations Strategic Sourcing Support - Ensure alignment with ODs performance expectations - Monitor adherence to established contracts and realisation of savings, collaborating with contract mgt. and SRM teams as required. - Support Head of Category, CPO and other team members in driving internal change management. **_ Qualifications & Experience:_** - Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Purchasing, Supply chain, Economics or Industrial Engineering is required (NQF 7), - Minimum 6-8 years’ applicable experience in Procurement and at a large enterprise of which at least 3 years at managerial level, - MBA or related postgraduate qualification will be advantageous, - Hands on line management experience in a Procurement department, - CIPS membership required.
