Business Programme Manager

**Scope of Services Definition**
- Manage the end-to-end life-cycle of change, focusing on the delivery of the business outcomes defined in the programme’s business case.
- Work in partnership with the Business Solutions and Technology Department (BSTD) 1FinSurv Programme Manager to ensure the scope of the programme is delivered in time, within budget and to quality.
- Build a strong multi-disciplinary business programme team comprising Business
- Data, Business Change, Product Owners and SMEs.
- Ensure effective day-to-day management of the business programme team.
- Produce project management plans to ensure that they are comprehensive (i.e., should include scope, quality, risks, time, cost, HR, procurement, integration, communication) and to confirm that these knowledge areas are regularly updated and maintained.
- Ensure that all project documentation, deliverables, and reports are timeously produced, approved, and maintained.
- Identify and manage project risks, constraints, and changes; ensuring that the project plans are well managed and approved.
- Establish and manage relationships with all affected regulators including government entities, industry role players and service providers to ensure commitment to a common goal.
- Establish and effectively manage the business’ actions and responsibilities as it relates to the overall programme.
- Direct and coordinate activities of projects team members to ensure all projects progress according to the approved schedule, producing the expected deliverables, within budget and according to specification and quality standards.
- Conduct business projects meetings to consolidate reporting and constraints, ensuring cohesion, consistency, and integrity of output.
- Provide leadership and motivation to business projects team members throughout the project life cycle.
- Oversee the delivery of the business benefits and monitor post-implementation reviews to ensure sustainability of project solutions.
- Ensure the required resources are requested and assigned to complete projects activities.
- Set up and attend key governance forums, including steering committees, business design authority, data governance board, management oversight and stand-up meetings.
**Minimum experience required**
- A minimum of 8 - 10 years job-related experience in project/programme management, ideally gained in complex strategic projects for large organisations.
**Minimum qualification required**
- An Honour’s degree in Commerce and/or Information and Communications Technology or an equivalent qualification (NQF8 level).
**The following will be an added advantage**:
- A relevant Programme/Project Management certification
**Competencies**
- Strong business focus (as opposed to technology).
- A track record in large scale, transformational delivery.
- Excellent knowledge of several projects and programme management methods (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP, MSP, Six Sigma) and agile delivery methodologies (e.g., Scrum, SAFe, DSDM).
- Advanced risk management experience.
- Experience in facilitating senior-level meetings to solicit critical information and resolve sensitive issues and drive alignment.
- Experience in managing a significant, distributed business change workstream.
- Proficiency in English (both verbal and written).
- Industry, organisational, and business awareness knowledge and skill.
- Quality assurance knowledge and skill
- Continuous improvement knowledge and skill.
- Strong leadership qualities.
- Portfolio, Programme and project management knowledge and skill.
- Project reporting knowledge and skill.
- Experience to large-scale transformation programmes.
- Exposure to the finance industry (e.g., banks, insurers etc.).
- Exposure to regulatory programmes and projects.
- Confident communicator able to develop, tailor and deliver the right messages about the programme to the right stakeholders at the right time.
