**Minimum Requirements**:

- Must be available** IMMEDIATELY**:

- Valid SANC licence
- At least 3 years previous work experience as an **Ophthalmic Nursing**is essential
- Post-basic Diploma/Certificate in **Ophthalmic Nursing**is essential
- Competent in the demonstration and assessment of relevant clinical procedures and management of risks
- Knowledge of clinical procedures, relevant nursing legislation, the Scientific Nursing Process and BCA bundles
- Management of surgical equipment and instruments
- Infection prevention and control (IPC) principles and protocols
- Risk Management

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- **Deliver safe, comprehensive and quality peri-operative nursing care according to Scope of Practice.
- Deliver quality peri-operative nursing care in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team
- Identify, prevent and manage risks to ensure patient safety
- Facilitate a positive patient experience by creating a conducive environment
- Provide accurate and comprehensive records of all nursing interventions
- Create a learning environment that builds staff competence
- Ensure that all utilised stock and equipment are accurately charged
- **Ophthalmic Nursing** duties and responsibilities
