Mechanical Fitter

THE FOLLOWING POSITION IS AVAILABLE AT SIZA WATER:
**MECHANICAL FITTER (REF: MAIN/04/2025)**

**The successful applicant is required to perform the following key functions, amongst other duties**:

- Responsible for the repair, maintenance, and servicing of pumps -including FLYGT, Gorman Rupp, KSB, and Ebara models - as well as other mechanical equipment such as gearboxes, valves and other rotating equipment.
- Pump fault finding, efficiency testing, and root cause analysis, with the ability to deliver high-quality repairs both in the workshop and on-site with mínimal downtime.
- Generate and submit reports.
- Perform structured investigations into recurring failures and provide detailed reports and recommend corrective/preventive actions.
- Perform standby duties including Senior Standby.
- Responding to alarms and callouts.
- Work in accordance with company safety policies, procedures and quality standards.
- Perform other related duties within the Maintenance Department.

**The applicant is required to have**:
**1. Qualifications**
- Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical Science.
- Technical N3.
- A valid code 8 drivers’ license
- Trade Tested Mechanical Fitter.

**2. Experience**
- 2 years work experience in a fitting environment preferably in a Water and Sewer industry.

**3. Skills**
- Knowledge of pumps / Pressure related pumping systems /Gearboxes /Valves/Belt drives and other rotating equipment.
- Proficient in Microsoft 360 Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
