The **General Manager **reports directly to the Managing Director - Africa and collaborates closely with regional and unit management teams. The position is based in the **Johannesburg, South Africa **office. The General Manager will lead all operational and strategic activities in South Africa.

This role involves implementing approved strategies, meeting budgeted targets, and driving business development initiatives (both sales and operational) within the region or branch. The General Manager is responsible for Profit & Loss results and achieving key operational Key Performance Indicators.

**What you will do**:

- Develop and execute a business development strategy aligned with the global KONE vision.
- Lead all business activities to meet short
- and long-term goals, focusing on sales, marketing, and major projects.
- To promote our services, we build and maintain relationships with clients, partners, and key Elevator and escalator industry leaders.
- Manage complex sales opportunities, partnerships, and projects.
- Oversee the development and performance of the regional/branch team to meet established sales and business goals.
- Ensure employee safety, tool implementation, and compliance with company policies.
- Planned and reported regional/branch performance, including budgeting and financial reporting.
- Act as the primary KONE representative, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty.

**Are you the one**:

- Prior experience of min 8 years of business management in sales and operational management with budget responsibility
- Prior experience of min 6 years in a management/leadership position
- At the minimum bachelor’s degree in economics, Business, or another relevant field is completed.
- Proven experience in strategic planning, business development, and operational leadership.
- Strong financial acumen with P&L management experience.
- Excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills with a customer-focused approach.
- Ability to lead and inspire teams to achieve business objectives.
- Fluency in English
