Met Mast: Instrument Technician

**Summarised Job Description**

The Instrument Technician will support the Lead Instrument Technician function in mast builds and maintenance scopes in the renewables division of the Company.

**Job description**

1. Assist the Lead Instrument Technician to source equipment and/or consumables from Suppliers.

2. Assist the Lead Instrument Technician with the instrument FAT process.

3. Technical Authority for Instrument installations, fault findings & Maintenance. Inspect and troubleshoot instruments prior to deployment.

4. Write detailed written practices / procedures for fault finding on possible issues on all system.

5. Act as Leader and responsible person on & off site.

6. Compile a Quality Control Plan for the project to ensure conformity to company workflow work instructions, procedures and/or applicable industry standards.

7. Ensure safe working practices are followed throughout the project.

8. Contribute to the company safety culture by reporting any near misses, opportunity for improvement and any safety observations.

9. Handle technical queries from customers and respond effectively when required.

10. Assist the Project Manager to identify project equipment required for project services execution.

11. Compile a Commercial Invoice Packing List (CIPL) for review by the Project Manager prior to book out of the required equipment from stores.

12. Generate and/or review Project Inspection reports, compile Databook’s and submit timely to the client upon review approval by the Compliance department.

13. Keep updated with latest industry trend of instruments requirements.

14. Keep updated with training requirements for software & dialling in processes on data loggers.

15. Pursue avenues to grow the business in terms with bettering our service offering, for example research LIDAR & SODAR systems orientation and understanding of these systems to offer installation & maintenance services.

16. Research avenues to offer building of data loggers & testing instruments in house for mast builds & maintenance scopes.

17. Need to travel regularly and work after hours in order to see success of projects.

**Requirements**:
1. Electrical HNC / HND or higher / Red Seal, desirable.

2. SCADA experience highly desirable.

3. IRATA or IWH rope access is desirable.

4. Two to Four Experience in instrumentation and maintenance.

5. Proficient at MS Word and MS Excel

6. Excellent administrative and organisational skills

8. Proficient level of English, both written and oral.
