**Position: Operations and Logistics Administrator and Driver**

An exciting yet dynamic job opportunity has become available within the Operations and Logistics Department at our head office in Sybrand Park, Cape Town.

The Amy Foundation is a non-profit organisation (NGO) that offers various programmes to develop and empower youth, ages 5-35, reaching over 1600 youth everyday living in challenged and vulnerable communities within the Western Cape.

We are recruiting for an experienced, passionate, flexible, and driven individual to occupy the Operations and Logistics Administrator and Driverposition between 08h30 to 16h30 Monday to Friday within a fast pace and dynamic working environment. The role will report directly to the Operations Manager.

The purpose of the role is to support to the Operations and Logistics Manager and Co-ordinator.

The incumbent will be responsible for operational and logístical support related to learner and youth development programmes including personnel, logistics, transport/driving and related activities relevant to these programmes.

**Specific duties and responsibility include, but not limited to**:

- Obey all traffic laws at all times.
- Ensure daily completion and updating of vehicle log sheets of areas travelled to, and items collected or delivered. Complete delivery and collections file daily.
- Safely transporting staff, volunteers and learners as well as various products and materials to and from specified locations in a timely manner.
- Ensure that vehicles are not overloaded.
- Assisting with the loading and offloading of, products, and materials.
- Adjusting travel routes to avoid traffic congestion or road construction.
- Promptly informing the Logistics Co-ordinator of any traffic tickets issued against the company vehicle during work hours.
- Ensuring that the company vehicle is always parked in areas that permit parking in order to avoid towing.
- Keeping the company vehicle clean and properly maintained by performing regular washing, cleaning and vehicle maintenance by checking tires, lights, mirrors, brakes, bodywork, interior, seatbelts, etc. when required.
- Report any accidents, injuries, and vehicle damage to Logistics Co-ordinator.
- Use route navigation apps and knowledge of area to deliver packages to customers on time
- Interact with donors beneficiaries etc. in a professional manner.
- Work occasional evenings and weekends when required.
- Perform some other undertakings like shopping, dropping and picking clothing, getting lunch, and running errands.
- Ensure that the amount of donations received in kind from various donors are recorded daily/weekly/monthly.
- Getting quotations for procurement of various items required (first preference to get the item donated or discounted) MAYBE.
- Prepare cheque requisitions when purchases are made in admin/operations department.
- Reception relief whenever required, including lunch times and in absence of receptionist (in absence of a volunteer not being available.
- Managing the booking out, issuing and checking back of all costumes and equipment including marketing items.
- Keeping the storerooms neat and tidy at all times.
- Assist colleagues whenever necessary.
- Check that vehicles have fuel (weekly) and that tanks are filled before the monthly increase of fuel prices.
- Ensure that roadworthy and license renewals of vehicles happen before expiration dates.
- Cleaning and maintaining cleanliness of courtyard and outside of building and upkeep of gardens and plants on the premises.
- Calling Council when drains are blocked or outside drains requires fumigation.
- Overseeing onsite installations and repairs eg: cameras, ceiling mounted projectors and screens, painting etc. When required.
- Ensuring that the office and facilities are ready for workshops, events and day to day activities.
- Closing blinds, windows and doors in the afternoon of the building.
- Assisting with distribution of donations.
- Packing and keeping all storage places tidy.
- Maintain all maintenance equipment.
- Assist with packing/getting ready equipment requirements for Programmes & Office.

**Minimum requirements**:

- Matric.
- Clear Criminal record
- Essential.
- Must have a valid drivers’ license and a PDP is advantageous.
- Proven experience as an office administration, office assistance or relevant role
- Solid verbal and written communication skillsin English, Afrikaans and Xhosa (an advantage)
- Good organisational and negotiation skills
- Effective communication skills.
- Punctual and reliable.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office
