Southern Suburbs, Cape Town (Hybrid: combination of remote work and in-person as needed)

**Working Hours**:
Half-day (Monday to Friday) | Flexible hours with availability during mornings preferred.

Saturday and Sunday - available for online bookings, enquiries, and any urgent matters or emergencies

**About the Role**

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Admin Assistant with basic bookkeeping experience to support a small guesthouse and assist with personal administrative tasks. This is a hybrid role suited to someone who enjoys working independently, is highly organised, and takes initiative.

Looking for someone with experience that has some time, and wants to earn extra income for part time work.

**Key Responsibilities**
- **Guesthouse Bookings & Operations**_
- Respond to guest inquiries promptly and professionally
- Maintain an accurate booking calendar across all platforms
- Liaise with cleaning/maintenance teams for check-ins and check-outs
- **General Administration**_
- Organise files, documents, and schedules
- Manage inboxes and assist with follow-ups and correspondence
- Maintain digital and physical filing systems
- Prepare ad hoc reports and spreadsheets as required

**Project & Maintenance Procurement Support**
- Assist with sourcing and procuring services, materials, or contractors for ad hoc projects and maintenance work
- Obtain quotes, compare pricing, and liaise with service providers
- Coordinate and follow up on scheduled maintenance and project timelines
- Track project-related expenses and update cost summaries
- Maintain a simple record of completed work and supplier contacts
- **Basic Bookkeeping**_
- Record and track payments and expenses
- Reconcile bank statements and booking payments
- Prepare monthly summaries for accountant
- The submission of vat and paye returns
- **Personal Admin Support**_
- Assist with organising personal appointments, travel, and household admin
- Run errands occasionally (if local and agreed upon)

**Requirements**:

- Proven experience in admin and office support
- Basic bookkeeping/accounting knowledge (e.g. using Excel, Sage, Xero, or similar)
- Excellent communication and time-management skills
- High level of discretion and trustworthiness
- Driver's license and vehicle for transport
- Reliable Laptop

**Preferred**
- Previous experience in hospitality or property management
- Resides in or near the Southern Suburbs, Cape Town
- Needs to live within 10 to 15 minutes of Constantia

**Remuneration**
- Market-related, based on experience and availability
- First 6 months - Half day fixed term contract to test mutual fit
- Room for growth as business grows

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: R8 000,00 - R12 000,00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Constantia, Western Cape (City of Cape Town): Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Hospitality: 1 year (required)
- Bookkeeping: 2 years (required)

**Language**:

- English (required)
- Afrikaans (preferred)
