Based in Killarney Gardens, Cape Town, we are part of the city's renowned boat building hub, conveniently located near the port and suppliers.

**Role Summary**:
As our company continues to grow, we are seeking a full-time Marine Draughtsman to support our engineering and operations departments. This role involves general marine modelling and drafting, working closely with external design contractors and our internal engineering team to ensure projects progress on schedule and meet high-quality standards. Evolution Marine Manufacturing offers a unique hands-on environment where motivated individuals can develop and grow as the company expands.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Generate models and associated drawings for various marine assemblies, components, and systems.
- Interface with internal and external design, engineering, prototyping, and production teams/contractors to ensure valid drawings are available for machining, assembly, and supplier needs.
- Manage information and data entry tasks related to the generation and tracking of new and revised drawings.
- Support management and continuous improvement functions.

**Required Skills**:

- Demonstrable experience in developing models and production drawings.
- Highly motivated and self-driven individual.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, with the capability to find solutions independently.
- Proficiency in modelling software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Rhino, or similar.

**Essential Job Requirements**:

- BEng degree preferred.
- 1-5 years of related drafting and/or modelling experience.
- High level of professionalism and ethical behaviour.
- Strong organisational skills; detail-oriented and proactive in managing projects and tasks.
- Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods and move about the facility.
- Extended periods of time working on a computer.
- Ability to work effectively within a team.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to self-manage tasks to completion.
- Familiarity with a mechanical/fabrication environment preferred.
- Must have own transport and a valid driver’s licence.

**Salary**: Competitive, commensurate with experience.

**Experience**:

- draughting or modelling: 2 years (required)
- mechanical or fabrication environment: 1 year (required)
- boatbuilding: 1 year (preferred)

License/Certification:

- B Eng degree (preferred)
