Sales Consultant

**Purpose of the position**:
Generating and closing sales telephonically and maintaining good customer relationships within the life insurance department.

**Responsibilities**:

- Contact potential or existing customers to inform them about a product or service by following scripts
- Effectively respond to queries about products and/or the company
- Conduct needs analyses to understand customer requirements and to close sales
- Direct prospects to the Group Schemes team
- Enter and update client information in the database
- Capture information in an accurate manner
- Go the “extra mile” to meet sales targets and to get referral sales

**Requirements**:

- Matric/ NQF4 equivalent
- RE5 and full FAIS accreditation (advantageous)
- 2- 3 years' experience working in long term insurance telesales (advantageous)
- Proven track record of successfully meeting sales targets
- Good understanding of life insurance underwriting processes and principles

**Skills and Attributes**:

- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Multilingual (advantageous)
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to present products or service telephonically
- Excellent negotiation, objection
- and conflict handling skills
