**Job Purpose**
The Logistics & Inventory Manager is responsible for overseeing the flow of goods into and out of the warehouse, ensuring stock accuracy, and optimising storage, movement, and distribution processes. This role plays a key part in improving efficiency, minimising losses, and ensuring accurate stock data across systems and teams.
**Key Responsibilities**
**Logistics Management**
- Plan and manage inbound and outbound logistics operations, including receiving, dispatching, and transport coordination
- Liaise with freight forwarders, couriers, and transport providers to ensure timely delivery and cost efficiency
- Track shipments, resolve delivery issues, and manage customs or clearance delays if needed
- Monitor and improve warehouse layout, space utilisation, and workflow efficiency
**Inventory Control**
- Ensure accurate tracking of all stock across systems and physical storage
- Oversee regular stocktakes, cycle counts, and inventory audits
- Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies or variances
- Manage the integrity of data within the inventory management system
**Team Leadership & Training**
- Lead and support warehouse staff responsible for stock handling, data entry, and logistics
- Train team members on inventory procedures, best practices, and system use
- Set daily, weekly, and monthly targets for stock accuracy and logistics performance
**Systems & Reporting**
- Use warehouse management systems (WMS), spreadsheets, and related tools to manage inventory and logistics operations
- Generate accurate stock reports and logistics summaries for management and buying teams
- Identify opportunities to automate, streamline, or optimise systems and processes
**Compliance & Risk Management**
- Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety standards, and transport regulations
- Minimise inventory shrinkage, handling errors, and operational risks
**Requirements**:
**Education**
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or Business Administration
**Experience**
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in logistics, inventory management, or supply chain roles
- Prior experience in a warehousing or distribution environment is essential
- Experience with fashion, retail, or clearance stock environments is a plus
**Skills & Attributes**
- Strong organisational and planning skills
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving ability
- Competence in inventory software, Microsoft Excel, and logistics platforms
- Strong leadership and team management capability
- Good communication skills across departments and external partners
**Education**:
- Diploma (preferred)
**Experience**:
- logistics, inventory management, or supply chain roles: 3 years (preferred)
