Mid - Video Editor

Job description
TBN Africa is looking for a Christian mid-level video editor/videographer based in Jozi to work with us on exciting projects in our creative department. We are an awesome small team that all have the same heart and passion for getting the gospel out through television and the desire to work to the best of our abilities, for us this is more than a job but more of a passion yes, we do get paid for it.Yay. We are looking for someone who is a quick learner, has a good understanding of Adobe Premiere and After Effects, and can work to a deadline
The main function of this role is to create promos, edit TV shows, and maintain the channel under the guidance of the creative director.
The second part of the job is to work in a studio environment. This will be from setting up cameras, lights, vision mixing, and various other tasks and duties. You must be prepared to work in many areas of post-production but have a passion for video editing, compositing, and cameras.

**Experience**:
2-5 years of work experience required

**Key responsibilities**:
In Office
Edit filmed footage & TV shows as specified by line manager
Edit/re-edit promos for programs
Record and edit voice-overs
Channel branding updates & maintenance
Create logo builds and lower thirds where required
Export music videos and promos (supplied by third parties) to our format and required audio levels
Re-export programs that have lip-sync issues etc.
Ensure delivery is according to the agreed scope and within the agreed timeframe
Work as part of a team with designers, editors, and videographers
**Use design software (Adobe CC**: After Effects, Premiere, Illustrator, Photoshop) proficiently
Stay up-to-date with technological and software advances
Assist in uploading and downloading TV shows from around the world
Help with maintenance of various channel imaging ie. Lineups, Combos, Strapping Music videos and so much more.
Creatively and efficiently edit videos using Adobe Premiere Pro, with consistently high quality and according to the deadlines and the look and feel of the channel. These videos are then to be added to our playout server in the correct format and to be signed off.
Troubleshoot and assist with various technical problems as and when required
Effectively time manage a project to deadline and channel look and feel
Be teachable
Take the lead on projects given, This includes giving and receiving constructive feedback that is in the best interests of the project
Effective in communication

**In studio/ on location**:
Film at various locations as necessary
Maintain and operate video cameras, lighting, and audio equipment
Preparing the studio well in advance before shoots
Setting up of cameras
Operating cameras (on and off-site)
Operating autocue as and when needed
Vision mixing
**Requirements**:
(Video editing) Adobe Premier
After Effects
Photoshop CS
Camera operator
Creative thinker
Works well with a team
Attention to detail is a must
**Added bonus**: Graphic design, Vision Mixing, Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
Technical skills required
Detailed knowledge of editing with Adobe Premiere Pro
Detailed knowledge of Composoting with Adobe After Effects
A great understanding and knowledge of cameras
Experience in filming inserts or studio shows is an advantage
Experience in Illustrator, Photoshop, and Cinema 4D is an advantage
Working knowledge of the Macintosh operating system is preferred
Understanding of bitrate, aspect ratio, and resolution in exporting videos from Premiere Pro CC and Media Encoder
Excellent time management and quality management skills are essential
