**Senior Category Manager**

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Ensure the linkage of business strategy to sourcing strategy and initiatives of a particular category (a group of commodities with similar supply market facing characteristics) of goods and services by identifying value creation opportunities, identifying risks, managing spend and strategic project demands to produce enhanced business results by focusing on delivering customer service excellence and shareholder value. Support the ISM Tower lead in development of multi-year enterprise sourcing strategy and savings roadmap for the specific tower. Develop category strategies and category strategic plans for categories under management, validating them with the Tower lead and the respective internal customer/s/ business stakeholders. Conduct strategic sourcing initiatives for all strategic sourcing projects, including fact based negotiations (supplier and industry analysis. benchmarks, cost structure analysis) for all managed categories.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

- Support the ISM Tower lead in development of multi-year enterprise sourcing strategy and savings roadmap for the specific tower
- Develop category strategies and category strategic plans for categories under management, validating them with the Tower lead and the respective internal customer/s/ business stakeholders
- Perform market intelligence and validate data analysis and converts actionable insights into category strategy recommendations
- Develop and maintain expert knowledge of respective global/ local supply markets, competitors and product innovations in the specific
- Conduct strategic sourcing initiatives for all strategic sourcing projects, including fact-based negotiations (supplier and industry analysis. benchmarks, cost structure analysis) for all managed categories
- Define project goals, timelines, roles and responsibilities and an overall project management plan
- Leads the development and execution of Go-To Market and negotiation strategy
- Identify supplier risk areas and quantify risk exposure and execute risk mitigation actions for all managed categories
- Support global and in-market strategic sourcing initiatives or projects
- Manages internal customer relationships
- Develop comprehensive implementation and communication plans with stakeholders and end users
- Manage complex supplier and strategic partner relationships and contracts
- Increase total contract spend under categories managed for the respective tower
- Improve voice of the customer and voice of the supplier metrics
- Improve BBBEE compliance (Preferential Procurement and ESD Score)
- Contribute to the improvement ISM Maturity

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Commerce, Operations Management, Business Process Management, Analytics, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
- 5-7 years of experience in strategic sourcing, supply chain management, management consulting, retail or professional services role with a demonstrated track record of results and increasing level of responsibility
- MCIPS (Chartered institute of Procurement and Supply), PMP (Project Management Professional) or SCMP (Supply Chain Management Professional)
- Global sourcing

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: R1,000,000.00 - R1,800,000.00 per year

- Strategic Sourcing: 5 years (required)
- Global Sourcing: 1 year (preferred)

License/Certification:
