**AVI Ltd. **is known for its leading household brands across many categories including hot beverages, sweet and savoury biscuits, and snacks, frozen convenience foods, personal care products, cosmetics, shoes, accessories, and fashion apparel.

**Logistics Support Services** is a support function to the AVI Group for distribution purposes. LSS has Distribution Centres located in Isando, Durban, Port Elizabeth, Cape Town, and East London. The Distribution Centres are responsible for the distribution of all National Brands products i.e., Biscuits, Snacks, Coffee, etc.

**Logistics Support Services** in **Isando**, **DC** seeks to attract a highly numerate and meticulous **Picking Supervisor**. Picking is to be executed timeously to ensure the customer base receives their orders as per the planned delivery dates on time and in full. The Picking Supervisor would be responsible for supervising a team consisting of a Picking Clerk, Pickers and High Reach Truck Drivers and is to ensure discipline is maintained and the targets are met as set by management in order to ensure the load plan can be executed. The Picking Supervisor is responsible to allocate loads for picking on the SAP WMS and ensure customer requirements are met or any special requirements relating to the shipment.

**Key Performance Areas**:
**Picking**
- Daily cage allocation according to priority of loads.
- Daily cage inspection and resolving stock queries.
- Daily allocation of planned orders and Transfer Orders according to priorities.
- Allocation of duties to staff daily.
- Ensure stock age requirements are met by customer.
- Ensuring the efficient and effective picking of all loads to be dispatched
- Monitoring staff continuously to ensure that loads are picked according to priority requirement for correctness.
- Minimising shorts and maintaining a high service level by replenishing regularly.
- Investigate all system related queries related to picking.
- Investigating stock discrepancies related to staff.
- Liaising with Receiving and Inventory departments regarding out of stocks, promotions, products on hold etc.
- Ensure the FIFO rule is enforced.
- Ensuring loads are picked according to customer requirements.
- Monitoring staff performance daily and addressing poor performance.

**Housekeeping**
- Ensuring that warehouse areas and offices under his supervision are kept neat and tidy e.g., to liaise with contract cleaners regularly.
- Conduct daily warehouse inspections and ensure housekeeping is of high standard, must be documented and included in shift handover report.
- Reporting & investigation of all incidents under his direct control.

***Maintains discipline in his department by**:

- Monitoring employee performance.
- Monitor hours worked, authorize overtime.
- Monitoring time keeping and absenteeism.
- Keeping a leave roster for his department and authorizing leave to subordinates. Submitting leave forms timorously for processing.
- Do the necessary SHEQ and Food Safety Inspections to ensure staff are compliant with the company rules and procedures.

**Maintains Equipment under his control by**:

- Ensuring that drivers are completing a daily check sheet for each machine and scanner, which he needs to vet and sign off.
- Organizing the required repairs to machines when required by logging calls to the MHE service provider.
- Ensure that all other equipment is serviced on regular intervals and that necessary checks are completed, scanner, printers.
- Ensuring that all forklifts, high reach machines and powered pallet jacks under his control are kept clean and in a working condition.
- Review machine running hours and ensure machines are equally utilized.

**General**
- Adhere to all Policies and Procedures.
- Assist with monthly stock counts and weekend work when required. Picking Supervisor must be present to supervise the staff.
- Following all QMS procedures involved with the picking and shipping of stock.
- Following all company rules and regulations.
- Ensuring all the site’s Food Safety Program requirements are adhered to.
- Assist in the training & induction of new employees.

**Minimum Requirements**:
**Experience**:

- Five years working experience in a warehousing environment.
- Have experience with supervising a team of at least 15 staff members.

**Qualifications**:

- Completed Grade 12
- Completed Logistics and Warehousing qualification will be of advantage.
