Our client, a well-established and respected manufacturing company in the plastics industry, is on the hunt for a Maintenance Technician. You will be responsible for the preventive maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment. You will work with other technicians to ensure that the factory is running smoothly and efficiently. If you are technically minded and skilled in such a similar environment, then this is the perfect opportunity for you.

You will be responsible for but not limited to

Install machinery and equipment, trouble shoot and test problems

Performs general repairs and routine maintenance

Assist with the upkeep of the facilities

Ability to tig, mig, arc and oxy weld and competent use of hand tools and power tools

Order and install parts and supplies

Document maintenance activities

Read and interpret equipment manuals to schedule maintenance and services

A sound knowledge of FMCG packing Machines. Ulma / Omori/ Terioka

A sound knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electronics, mechanics, and computers

Ensuring and maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to health and safety requirements

Work in adherence to ISO 22000 standards and procedures

Ensure high level of work ethic

**Education / Requirements**

A minimum of 5 years’ experience within the manufacturing industry as a Maintenance Technician

Certificate / Diploma (Warehousing / Logistics / Manufacturing) will be adv.

Must come from a technical background and have a strong mechanical aptitude

Willing to work overtime and to be on standby for breakdowns and conducting of preventative maintenance over the weekend.

Experience in the FMCG will be an added advantage

Valid driver’s licence (code 8)

Fluent in English & Afrikaans

**Skills**

Proven experience as a maintenance technician or relevant role

Team player and ability to maintain a positive attitude in the team

Sound communication skills and ability to give clear instructions when working with the team in making a repair

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: R14 000,00 - R17 000,00 per month
