About the role:
The Director of Operations, Africa, is responsible for representing the Africa region at the highest level. This position is charged with fostering growth and innovative opportunities for the company, as well as development opportunities for staff & CEOs, while creating global company awareness for the region in general. This individual will be responsible for the overall customer satisfaction, health and safety, stability, efficiency and engagement within the region.

**Responsibilities**:
- Responsible for business leadership in all G Adventures entities and offices in the region.- Oversee broad multi-disciplined team based in Cape Town and also remotely throughout Southern and Eastern Africa- Lead, manage and develop the various teams in a progressive and fast-moving environment.- Work with our Talent team to ensure we attract, hire, and keep the best possible people in all areas of the business.Deliver on multi-brand strategy as determined by G Adventures, aimed at representing all G Adventures trip styles and brands via appropriate product development and staff training.- Working with the executive team to set profitability and NPS objectives and ensure all staff collaborate to meet these objectives.- Responsible for overall engagement of staff, company culture, and adherence to our core values.- Together with the Operations & CEO Managers, inspire and guide the CEOs and all tour staff to be fully integrated and engaged with the company, the G brands and all travellers.Seek out and develop new business concepts, trip ideas, relationships and opportunities throughout the region that allow G Adventures to grow, differentiate, and be more cost effective.- Develop and manage profitable on-tour ancillary revenue opportunities.- Collaborating on the various contracting objectives with the buying team to ensure the regions have the best tour costs possible, remain profitable and achieve company targets.- Ensure all supply chain policies are being followed.- Ensure safety of our passengers and staff is forefront in all operational decisions and procedures.- Ensure the management team in the region is able to execute on the various G Adventures’ brand promises for all travel styles and travel brands.- Collaborate with the centralized revenue management team to ensure all trips are running as profitable as possible while identifying areas which need attention from sales, marketing and/or yield.- Manage the office fiscal overhead budgets following the guidelines set by the finance team and VP Operations.- Manage the annual performances for direct reports and ensure that all reviews are undertaken for all indirect reporting staff.- Driving change and improvement of the region at all levels including reservation system, cost management, communications, buying, customer service, new staff growth opportunities etc. Must be able to take an idea, solution or plan and execute it.- Keeping yourself up to date with local regulations and ensure G Adventures remains a competitive company on the market in good standing where we operate.- Act as the representative of G Adventures in front of all local and relevant authorities in each country with ability to sign on COGS and overhead payments.Work closely with senior company leadership, supporting all efforts aimed at regional engagement, company culture, commercial efforts, product improvements and initiatives, and anything else as requested.- Work closely with the Regional Operations Managers and Supervisors.- Maintain and promote efficient and effective processes based on centralized guidelines, facilitating communication between departments and offices as necessary for efficient operations to thrive.- Encourage the sharing of best practices between the different teams and share best practices with basecamp ops and other regions.- Ensure the entire regional team is represented at a
